Chief Executive Officer
Benoît Dumont is a French national who has spent most of his career abroad. He started his professional life in Berlin as a supply chain consultant before joining McKinsey & Company in 1999. He then moved to the industry and joined DHL Express Europe in 2004 and DHL Supply Chain EMEA in 2009, where he held various positions in the functional areas as Chief Operating Officer, but also as P&L owner as Regional CEO for Germany, Alps & Nordics. In these positions, he developed and drove new commercial strategies, performance management and engagement models, and achieved significant profit enhancements and revenue growth. Benoît was appointed CEO of Unilode in September 2017.
Benoît holds a Master of Science in International Finance from the Sorbonne University in Paris and a Master’s degree in International Logistics Management from the University of the Mediterranean (France). He speaks English, French and German fluently, and some Swedish.
Chief Commercial Officer
A multilingual, dual British/German citizen (Dutch native), Don Jacobs has 28+ years’ international experience in marketing, sales, supply chain management, risk mitigation, security and aviation. Before joining Unilode in 2015, Don had a long international career with Deutsche Post DHL, where he occupied several key positions in sales and general management in various countries in Europe and at DHL’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium and Bonn, Germany. Notably, he led one of the integration projects in sales and business development following the acquisition of DHL by Deutsche Post in 2002, creating the organisational blueprint and modus operandi for DHL Express’ key and global account management. Don then switched to the aviation industry, joining (among others) Aberdeen International Airport and a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo (Jettainer).
Don holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and completed an executive MBA in General Management at the Rotman School of Management (Toronto, Canada).
Chief Financial Officer
Roger Wyss is a Swiss national and has started his professional career at Ernst & Young Assurance as an auditor and successfully attended a programme to become Swiss Certified Public Auditor. He then moved to Pöyry Plc in 2009 where he held various positions in the finance department in Switzerland as Finance Manager, in Sweden as Head of Finance and in Germany as Vice President Finance Region Central Europe. In 2015 he joined SR Technics as Finance Director in the M&A department and took over the role as Global Head of Finance VP in 2017. As finance professional he gained 15 years of working experience and in-depth knowledge in controlling, reporting, accounting, M&A, project management, finance processes & controls, corporate finance, business development, strategy, auditing and taxation.
Roger holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Business Economist) from the Northwestern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences. He speaks English and German fluently, and some Spanish.
Chief Operations Officer
Babak Yazdani is a Danish national with several years of experience in operational excellence, customer operations and business transformation. Prior to joining Unilode in January 2018, he worked for Philips as Head of Global Operations, Business Transformation Leader and Head of Operational Excellence. Babak had a long career in various business units of DHL between 1998 and 2009 where he held several senior executive positions including Director of Operational Performance Management, Senior Director of Operational Strategy and VP of Operational Planning and Development.
Babak holds a Master of Science in Mathematics and Economics from the Aarhus University (Denmark), and an Executive MBA from the European School of Management and Technology (Germany). He speaks English, Danish and Persian fluently, and has strong working knowledge in Norwegian and Swedish.
Chief Information Officer
Floris Kleijn is a Dutch national with vast experience in international business including the fast-moving consumer goods, fresh produce, automotive and airline industries. Prior to joining the Unilode business in 2012, Floris held various Director level positions in IT with logistics and supply chain company CHEP who are a part of the Brambles group of companies. During this time Floris helped drive the development of innovative data-driven information service offers and their supporting patented concepts and technologies. At Unilode Floris led the team that was awarded the inaugural IATA Air Cargo Innovation Award in 2015.
Floris holds an International Baccalaureate and certificates from the University of Leiden (law, Netherlands) and Cranfield University (strategic management, United Kingdom). He is also trained in Strategic Sales (Miller Heiman) and Lean Six Sigma and speaks English, Dutch, German and French along with some Spanish. Floris is a regular public speaker on innovation topics and has contributed articles to various industry publications.
Managing Director, EMEA
Marc Groenewegen is a Dutch national who has worked most of his career in an international environment. He started his professional life in Amsterdam at a security firm, now part of Securitas, to optimise processes, and later joined a pan-European internet service provider to lead Product Management. After spending around two years in Mexico in the automotive sector, being responsible for Business Development and Supply Chain, Marc returned to the Netherlands to join Driessen Aerospace Group. During seven years at Driessen, Marc led the Innovation teams and was responsible for Business Development which included drafting the 5-year strategies for all business units. He was also in charge of all Sales to the aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus and Boeing, which led to a successful Single Source contract for the Airbus A320 galleys. In 2012 Marc joined the Unilode business as Regional Director EMEA.
Marc holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Erasmus University Rotterdam (The Netherlands), as well as an MBA from the OneMBA of the Rotterdam School of Management. He speaks Dutch, English and German fluently and some French and Spanish.
Managing Director, APAC
Adrian Loretz is a Swiss national. He started his career at Swissport and then worked for SWISS, the national carrier of Switzerland, as Cargo Process Engineer and Project Manager. He joined the Unilode business in 2010 as Key Account Manager. In 2011 he took on the role of GM Operations, based in Bangkok, Thailand, where he was responsible for the global planning activities for all ULD management customers. After his return to Switzerland in 2012, he took over the Sales and Account Management team in EMEA, winning new MRO and ULD management customers in the region. He led Unilode’s Project Management Office from October 2017 before being appointed as Managing Director Asia-Pacific in January 2018.
Adrian holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Freiburg (Germany), and an MBA from the University of Southern Queensland (Australia). He speaks English, German and French.
Managing Director Customer Experience
Joseph is an American national who has spent his professional career at some of the largest passenger airlines. Joseph has extensive experience in above wing, below wing, and cargo operations. He started at a US regional carrier in 2000 and held successive leadership positions at United Airlines, US Airways, Northwest Airlines and Delta. In 2015 Delta appointed Joseph as the head of a new ULD Control Group to oversee in-house MRO operations, sourcing, logistics, operations, regulatory compliance and digitalisation. While in the role his team successfully implemented the first and largest ULD IoT to date in the air cargo business. Additionally, Joseph led joint international initiatives with Delta’s equity and Sky Team partners. Joseph is extremely passionate in use of big data analytics and advanced techniques to improve airline safety, customer experience and operations.
Joseph holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, Minnesota and a Master’s in Business Administration – Finance from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Illinois.
Managing Director Short Term Leasing & Corporate Development
Mario Holzer is a Swiss national. He started his professional career with PwC as a Corporate Finance/ M&A Advisor before joining Bain & Company in 2013, where he worked as a Senior Consultant and subsequently Engagement Manager in various European and Latin American markets. During his time at PwC, he focused on buy- and sell-side M&A advisory as well as fundraising mandates. At Bain, he led and drove strategy, performance improvement and organisational/ change management assignments for corporate clients and full potential/ value creation assignments for private equity/ investment funds.
Mario holds a Master of Science in Finance from HEC University of Lausanne (Switzerland) and UCLA Anderson School of Management (USA) and graduated with honours from both universities. He is fluent in German and English and conversational in French and Spanish.
