October 18, 2012

CHEP Aerospace Solutions has just announced the acquisition of eps-Aircraft Services GmbH, the leading cargo and galley equipment repair services provider in Frankfurt, Germany. This follows a recent acquisition from Nordisk Aviation Products in Copenhagen, and the opening of an owned repair facility in Doha, Qatar, extending the CHEP Aerospace Solutions repair network to more than 50 stations worldwide.

Located in Kelsterbach, close to Frankfurt Rhein-Main Airport, eps-Aircraft Services operates three workshops with a total space of 2,300 square metres and employs 27 staff. The company serves many global carriers and service providers including Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Envirotainer, Jettainer, Lufthansa, Swiss, Thai Airways and United Airlines.

eps-Aircraft Services Managing Director and co-founder, Erika Bühring-Koss, said: “After running eps-Aircraft Services for more than 20 years as a family business we are very pleased to have found in CHEP Aerospace Solutions a strategic owner who will not only guarantee continuity for the business, its customers, management and staff, but also bring considerable additional opportunities to grow and expand the business. With CHEP’s global repair contracts as well as its additional repair volumes from its pooling customer base in Germany, we are all looking forward to working with our new owners and jointly opening a new chapter in the future of our business.”

CHEP Aerospace Solutions President, Dr Ludwig Bertsch, said: “Our move into Frankfurt is extremely important strategically, and complements our extensive network of ULD (unit load device) and galley-cart repair stations. eps-Aircraft Services has an exceptional reputation in our industry, high quality standards that match CHEP’s, and excellent overlaps with our existing customer network. We look forward to welcoming the Frankfurt team under the continued leadership of Erika Bühring-Koss to the CHEP business, and to them playing an important part in our continued growth and success.”
